Ways to Take Action and Solve Words

These are some animal friends we use to help remind our young readers of things they can do to help themselves when they come to tricky words. Your children may talk about the strategies they use. We talk about being strategic readers, which means they are in control as a reader. They can try different things while always working to make sense in the story.  How they think about the story and the words helps them grow and learn.
